Really enjoyable tour as part of culture night. Eoin the guide is very knowledgable, this is our second time on a tour from Aroundireland and with Eoin as guide can't fault either time.
Went on U2 walking tour and it was a really terrific way to see and learn about Dublin beyond the common sights (which we also did and loved). If youâre a U2 fan, itâs great to see where they played and recorded and filmed and got their start and those are places one probably wouldnât investigate otherwise. Eoin, our guide, had a lot of knowledge of Irish history, and being a musician and in a band of his own, he added all sorts of flavor about the Dublin music scene. A+

If you're a U2 fan, this is the tour for you. Eoin the tour guide has some great background Irish history to the stories about U2 so it does also make for a generally interesting and more unique tour of the City of Dublin.
As a lifelong U2 fan and someone who moved to Dublin five months ago, the U2 Walking Tour was a must-do on my itinerary. It was raining torrentially that day in Dublin, and coincided with the Pride Parade. Nonetheless, atmosphere was electric, setting the perfect backdrop for a tour celebrating one of the worldâs most iconic bands.Our guide, Eoin, was exceptional. He expertly guided us through key landmarks in U2âs storied history, providing not just a tour but a journey through time. Eoinâs knowledge extended beyond the bandâs history, weaving in the broader narrative of Dublinâs tumultuous past. He painted a vivid picture of how the cityâs and countryâs struggles in the 1970s influenced U2's music and politics. This context was invaluable, offering a deeper understanding of the bandâs ethos and particularly Bonoâs activism.The tour was well-paced, covering significant spots linked to the band while also touching on pivotal historical moments. Eoinâs storytelling was engaging and enlightening, turning a simple walk into a rich, immersive experience. His insights helped me appreciate the complexity of Bonoâs global activism, grounding his actions in a profound understanding of history and personal conviction.We were a bunch of ardent U2 fans who braved the rain and wind and had a whale of a time exploring the landmarks. Spanning 2.5 hours, the route was flat and manageable, perfect for all fitness levels.Whether youâre a die-hard U2 fan or simply curious about Dublinâs cultural and political landscape, this tour is a delightful way to explore the city. It offers a unique blend of music, history, and personal anecdotes that will leave you with a newfound appreciation for both the band and the vibrant city that shaped them.
The walking tour was a highlight when we visited Dublin!We went to a lot places we wouldnât have found if we were wandering on our own and our tour guide Eoin was amazing! He was so engaging and knew exactly what he was talking about!Eoin combined a lot of U2 facts with historic facts of Ireland and talked about a lot of important topics.It was so interesting and I would recommend it to anyone visiting😊
As a fan of U2 and as a visitor to Dublin for the first time it was a no-brainer for me to sign up for this walking tour. It was a bright sunny day, so a little hot and also happened to take place during the Pride Parade, so it was definitely a full-on day for walking about.But our tour guide Eoin (in American English it sounds like âOwenâ) not only gave us an informative walkabout to key landmarks in U2âs amazing history. You get the sense they were always destined for greatness. But you also get a lot of crucial context, about the history of Dublin, and in particular how some of the terrorist events of the 70s helped shape the bandâs politics to come. I really appreciated knowing these things because like many U2 fans you can become a bit cynical about Bonoâs robust interactions with world leaders and causes, but this tour helps remind you that he puts his money where his mouth is, and doesnât mince words even if certain segments of his fanbase are outraged by them.I definitely recommend this tour for both fans of the band and people interested in knowing more about Dublin. Itâs a 2.5 hour walkabout and your ticket gets you a cup of coffee at the end of the trip (I had an iced coffee). Itâs a flat walk though so no rough hills or anything; just bring comfy sneakers or shoes. What the tour doesnât cover is bringing you to studios where the band recorded their pivotal albums, like Windmill Lanes Recording Studios, but those have tours of their own and are worth booking as a supplementary experience to this walking tour.
